APPLYING THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD IN DAILY ACADEMIC DILEMMAS
When people would hear of the scientific method, most of them would initially have that impression that this kind of method applies only to scientists and science enthusiasts. But as it may show on what the scientific method implies, it is but a list of simple and very applicable problem solving steps such as: 1) Know completely and understand what the problem is; 2) Collect data and pieces of evidence that will support your problem; 3) List your hypotheses or suppositions; 4) Test your hypotheses and suppositions-Experiment; 5) Verify Hypotheses; 6) Conclude or Generalize. These things may have been applied to scientific experiments but one may apply it to a lot of everyday problems. This method of problem solving can be used in finding ways to resolve some day-to-day problems, especially in school. One can be juggling time to accomplish numerous paper works, home works, exams and a lot of other to dos. But these may appear to be such a very easy predicament to solve by following the process of the scientific method. One must first identify and understand the problem in this situation: why is it hard to juggle school work? or what caused this problem to arise? Answering these questions will enable a student to determine the problem and reason behind it. Secondly, one must then gather relevant information to verify the existence of the problem such as the custom papers |
